The term mobile phone is becoming non-descriptive of today's
portable devices. The units available lately do much more than
just make and receive telephone calls. Using the ever decreasing
price of electronics, things such as cameras, GPS, calendars,
and contact managers have become available even with the
cheapest of models. There's such a fine line between the
function of a mobile phone and a Personal Digital Assistant,
that perhaps the term "cell phone" will fall by the wayside!
How to choose a mobile phone? First of all, any communication
outside the gadget will have to be paid for. Cell telephone
plans are a whole different topic. But, it's somewhat related
simply because some of the functions of these cellular phones or
PDAs need communication using the internet or other online
service. Primarily, you want a basic unit to talk on.
A great location to start shopping may be the many forums that
are related to different versions. Enter terms like "cell
telephone review" or "cell telephone forum". Numerous times
there are sub-forums related exclusively to a certain brand or
model.
If you browse via these forums, you'll find many dislikes and
likes of numerous various versions. Although think about this-
numerous people post their negative experiences far much more
than their approval ones in forums. So, maintain that in mind
that there are no ideal electronic devices. Notice features
discussed for example hold-ability (may be the device TOO little
or big), sound clarity, reception, how easy to use the menus
system from the mobile phone. They are key factors. Your gadget

exciting is the capability to accept memory cards and store MP3s
and even movies! The screens are little, but with amazing
quality! Notice, these are just options that enhance the user
experience- but sound quality of the voice and reception far
outweigh these options.
Do you've data needs? Some units have either a Palm Pilot or
Windows CE pc in them. These are great should you use these
types of units and want to carry one gadget. Maybe you're
carrying a laptop solely for using something like like the ACT!
Contact manager. Well there is a Palm version of that so you can
take all of your ACT! data with you, without having the laptop.
Maybe you have to be up to date on the latest news? These
devices usually also include a web browser in them, which means
you can connect to the web to news sites.
Granted, you can't get the same web content a actual pc could
due to the screen size, but you can still get the info you need,
send an email, obtain email, surf, etc. The downside may be the
size and also the cost. They usually are twice the size of the
nice compact telephone, and sell in the $350+ area.
Keep in mind that these data services use additional cash. So,
should you require these features, you might start your quest by
searching for mobile phone businesses that have much better
priced, or unlimited use with the internet service along with
your cellular minutes. Then you might need to chose a phone from
that company's lineup.
Should you spend the time thinking about what you require and
attack the project the correct way, you'll end up with something
you will wonder how you ever lived without. Today's cell phones
and PDAs have become integrated heavily into our society.
Appreciate your mobile phone and use it responsibly! Some states
have laws that you cannot hold a mobile phone inside your hand
while driving, which means you might want to think about the
Bluetooth option or a car kit. Remember, turn your ringer down
in the movies or other quiet public places!
